Celebration of Life

Many families want an opportunity to celebrate the life of their loved one. Our sister company Ballard-Sunder Funeral & Cremation is the perfect choice for any family who wants a simple cremation with some additional services not provided by Scott County Cremation. We are happy to connect you with their caring and experienced staff to help plan a celebration of life service.

A recent example of this: When Jennifer died, her mother commented that she wanted to be respectful of Jennifer’s wishes to keep things simple, but she still needed to say goodbye to her. She got that chance to say goodbye when she and Jennifer's children gathered at the crematory for a private family viewing. They shared stories about Jennifer, listened to special music and the Deacon from their church even came to say a prayer. This family respected the wishes of their loved one, but were still able to say goodbye in a way that was meaningful to them.

Permanent memorialization

Keeping an Urn at Home

This is a common choice and families can select the perfect urn for their loved one.

Placing the Urn in a Columbarium (aka, a “niche”)

Many families find comfort in having a final resting place that they can visit.

Burying the Urn

Similar to a casket, the in-ground burial of the urn allows for a final resting place.

Scattering of the Cremated Remains

Some families find comfort scattering the cremated remains in a place that was special to their loved one.
